WAK (Kevin A Williams) is an African- American, born in Chicago, Illinois in July 1965. He is widely known by his moniker WAK or W.A.K. ==Biography== WAK (Kevin A Williams) is an African American artist, born in Chicago, Illinois in July 1965. He attended Chicago Vocational High School. He studied at The Art Institute of Chicago, but did not graduate from there, and is mostly self-taught. He creates pieces that showcase the African-American experience. Williams's works have been featured on the television shows ''Law & Order'', on NBC, ''Soul Food'', on Showtime. He has also featured in major magazines including Upscale magazine and Rolling Out Magazine. In November of 2009, Williams was commissioned by the Professional Golf Association (PGA) to memorialize Ted Rhodes, John Shippen, Bill Spiller, and Joe Louis, the first African-American inductees to the PGA. He was the first African American artist to have a painting permanently hanging in the PGA National Museum in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
